Book of the Week - Strategy for Real Estate Companies: by Charlie Hewlett
When I heard about the storm headed towards Tampa Bay early last week I was concerned for my family. I was traveling in Los Angeles for the ReConvene conference and was unsure of the impacts it might have, but being the optimist that I am I went to the conference.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene ripped through Tampa Bay and the SouthEast like a buzz-saw. It has been nothing short of breathtaking to see the devastation. Homes have been lost, entire communities have been upended.
Our family was very fortunately spared. But so many others here in Tampa and elsewhere are literally digging out trying to put their lives back together. On Sunday in Tampa, not more than 1/2 mile from our house, the entire street had homes where people had emptied all the contents onto the curb to be taken away by the trash collector. All of their furniture, their treasured items, everything was gone.
In addition to the physical impacts, the personal impacts have been horrid. Children have been killed, families have nowhere to stay. It’s been so hard for so many people.
In this time of need, our family asks you to think of all those less fortunate. If you can donate your time or funds to support charitable causes, please do so. And please keep our region in your thoughts & prayers as we dig out.
Here are some charities doing good work in our region and beyond:
The storm has significant implications for the real estate industry in the region. We will discuss them in the future. Today we mourn for those who lost so much.
Sincerely, John
Thanks for sharing! Our family was truly blessed with minimal disruption to our lives. Others lost everything.....
